Empowering Women, One Leader at a Time

At Epsilon Phi Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, we are committed to shaping the next generation of global leaders.

OUR STORY

Rev. Dr. Selena Coleman, Chaplain, founded Epsilon Phi Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on February 22, 2022, as a final exam project for an online course at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a Doctorate of Divinity in Chaplaincy from Jacksonville Theological Seminary (Revelation Bible College) and has completed over 800 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education through internships at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The "Strategic Planning and Decision Making" course came at a pivotal moment, as the world faced the COVID-19 crisis and was placed under a "shelter-in-place" ordinance. During this period, most academic institutions transitioned to virtual learning, incorporating hybrid models with strict health precautions, including social distancing measures.

Amid this global uncertainty, Dr. Coleman received an unexpected call from one of her son's school friends. The recorded message revealed that her only son was stranded overseas after an airline strike led to mass flight cancellations. Struggling to remain calm while driving, she turned to prayer, knowing that her only true resource was her faith in God, whose reach extends beyond borders. In His divine grace, God made a way—and her son returned home safely.

Today, Epsilon Phi Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is still in its early stages of development, yet it holds tremendous potential to empower women, foster leadership, and serve as a beacon of support for communities worldwide. With faith as our foundation, we continue to grow and inspire.

Please keep EPhiA in your prayers as we move forward in our mission.
